BJP cannot afford to be complacent now

While many supporters of BJP are jubilant with State Elections results, let us sincerely hope that BJP would not be complacent under any circumstances.    In fact, as one close supporter mentioned to me they should work three times as hard.   He added, 'Are you kidding, never write off congress party'.  How true?  I only hope BJP cadre takes this to heart and work longer and harder. Should we be jubilant about the results and the real hope for change?   My question is why the country was put in this place first.   If the country had the same growth that BJP left it with in 2004, we would perhaps be running on par and even be ahead of China.   I recall how everything was booming, middle class growing; many NRIs were looking to settle back in India, the shining India.   Today, more people are being reduced to beggars, to depend on few kilos of rice and pulses the Government doles out for their livelihood. No where in the world's hist...

My love for people of Himachal

Image
We were so tired and pissed on the way to Shimla in Himachal Pradesh that just wanted a bed to jump in and sleep for a couple of hours. It all started with a road trip from Delhi to Punjab to Himachal to Haryana and back to Delhi. I had never heard anything about Himachal, about their people and/or their hospitality apart from the scenic beauty of this state. It was after my visit to Shimla, Manali and Rohtang Pass that I was forced by my inner soul to write about the people of Himachal Pradesh, not to promote their Tourism but their Hospitality. I have so many reasons to support their hospitality and I will list a few in brief. Instance 1 : I and my three friends were off to Shimla after visiting the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab. The spiritual trip was over and so we decided to halt at Haveli Dhaba in Jalandhar and eat and drink (like a fish). I voluntarily decided not to drink as I wanted to drive on the beautiful roads and Ghats to Shimla. I remember one ...

Facebookologist

I’ve always wondered what exactly a Palmist, Numerologist, Astrologist, Tarot Card Reader or anyone related to predicting persons past, present or future does!! How do they do it? Why do they do it? It makes no sense to me when someone reads a hand and tells what’s going on. Similarly a Numerologist, just with numbers comes up with such brilliant facts. Facts would be a wrong word here because I don’t believe in these people or their profession. All they do is make assumptions and make money. The funniest of all is a Tarot Card Reader which is very similar to the people on Indian streets, who have a parrot and a deck of cards. They ask the parrot to pick a card and then that card would say everything about me. Is it the card ?, is it the parrot ? or is it the owner of that parrot ? who/which will tell me more about my life/future ?. I believe there should be a Facebook Reader. People today happen to update anything and everything on Facebook. I guess a Facebook read...

Mahatma Gandhi - Not to be hated

This one is my favorite topic to discuss and debate upon – Mahatma Gandhi First let me get one thing clarified – I don’t hate Mahatma Gandhi at all and neither do I hate Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Chandrashekar Azad and others who had their ways of fighting for our freedom. I always think and feel confident that India wouldn’t have got its independence without Violence and Non Violence. If I love Mahatma Gandhi, that doesn’t mean without Bhagat Singh we would have been able to get our independence. See first of all, little knowledge is dangerous. Many youngsters nowadays don't take much pain to go through deep study & research and quickly jump into the conclusion. They're just happy to indulge in layman's discussion. So you'll see that many Indians hate Gandhi while very few like him. Although they can't say the exact reason behind liking or disliking Gandhi, they only have one reason to back their statement and that is ---- > “Gandhi made Pakis...

I as a recruiter hate to see such resumes

Connect with me on Linkedin Mail me - ljangada@qanalysts.com I as a recruiter hate to see such resumes. I’ve been working as a recruiter close to three years now and have worked on both VMS and Direct (Managed) Clients. I mostly work on Software requirements with main skills like Java, C, C++, C#, .Net, Flash, Ruby etc. We need speed and accuracy in finding resumes for VMS job orders and though speed is not a factor on Direct/Managed Job Orders, accuracy still plays an important role in both. Working on Software requirements, one has to learn the art of screening the right resumes before calling that candidate. The art of screening is a very important part for software job orders as there is a huge database of Non US Citizen and Non GC Holder resumes on the Job Boards. I can confidently state that out of every 10 resumes on a particular Job Board 7 to 8 resumes would be H1B Visa Holder resumes – which is fine :-). But my sole motive and thought behind putting ...
