Mahatma Gandhi - Not to be hated

This one is my favorite topic to discuss and debate upon – Mahatma Gandhi

First let me get one thing clarified – I don’t hate Mahatma Gandhi at all and neither do I hate Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Chandrashekar Azad and others who had their ways of fighting for our freedom.

I always think and feel confident that India wouldn’t have got its independence without Violence and Non Violence. If I love Mahatma Gandhi, that doesn’t mean without Bhagat Singh we would have been able to get our independence.

See first of all, little knowledge is dangerous. Many youngsters nowadays don't take much pain to go through deep study & research and quickly jump into the conclusion. They're just happy to indulge in layman's discussion. So you'll see that many Indians hate Gandhi while very few like him. Although they can't say the exact reason behind liking or disliking Gandhi, they only have one reason to back their statement and that is ---- > “Gandhi made Pakistan and Jawaharlal Nehru the Prime Minister of India”. --- Which is a RUBBISH statement to make!!

When I say that he DID NOT play the most important part in the making of Pakistan, I have a logical thinking to it. As far as the world knows he was the best example of Non Violence, Secularism and Patriotism. I can not and will never think that a man who was born in a rich family and a lawyer who studied in South Africa would give up his life for the country. He never had the aspiration of being the PM of India and neither did he ever hold a post which would benefit him politically, monetarily or personally.

He’s been and will be respected forever around the world and our own countrymen and especially the young generation hate him for stupid reasons. The biggest disrespect to Mahatma Gandhi is that the constitution of India has never declared and neither does it state that Mahatma Gandhi is the Father of India. --- WHAT A SHAME!!

Mahatma Gandhi is often praised as the man who defeated British imperialism with non-violent agitation. It is still a delicate and unfashionable thing to discuss his mistakes and failures, a criticism hitherto mostly confined to Communist and Hindutva publications. But at this distance in time, we shouldn’t be inhibited by a taboo on criticizing all the official and unofficial Indian Freedom Fighters.
